    Rendered by CustomerDocumentsDataTable through rawColumns(['customer']),
    which means this output is injected into the page unescaped. Nothing
    user-controlled reaches it unescaped: the names go out through `{{ }}` like
    everything else, and the payload goes out as an html-escaped attribute —
    `{{ json_encode(...) }}` is `e(json_encode(...))`, so a customer called
    `"><script>` becomes `&quot;&gt;&lt;script&gt;` inside the attribute and
    `JSON.parse` on the client gets the original string back as DATA.

    ## The whole row's payload rides here

    One attribute on one element, read by
    public/assets/js/nrems-customer-document-list.js — the pattern
    nrems-inquiry-actions.js established for a per-row payload. It carries every
    person on the booking and every document of each, with the urls each action
    needs, so changing either dropdown re-renders three cells without a request.
    CustomerDocumentsDataTable::payloadFor() is the one place that shape is
    built, and its docblock is the contract.

    A url is in the payload only when the viewer holds its permission, so the
    icons a person may not use have no address to point at rather than being
    hidden markup.

    ## Why the option VALUE is an index and not a customer id

    It is never submitted — this select is a view control and posts nowhere — so
    the value only has to identify one entry of `payload.persons`. The index does
    that unambiguously whatever the data contains; a customer id would be the
    more meaningful literal and would need a scan and a "what if two entries
    share one" answer to buy nothing.

    The FIRST option is selected, and the payload's first person is the booking's
    main customer (Booking::customers() orders `is_co_owner` then `id`). That is
    the client's "Default customer selected", inherited from the relation rather
    than restated here.
